The
Honda Insight was the first gasoline electric hybrid
vehicles to be sold in the U.S. it went on sale in the
December of 1999. It was primarily design to be the most
fuel efficient car available in America, but its
singularly focused on the fuel economy limits its
usefulness for consumers who are yawning for some power
and performance. Due to the demand has been miniscule
for the past several seasons, Honda has decided to drop
this model after the model year 2006, a replacement for
a new ?dedicated? hybrid model are in plan for 2009.
The 2006 Honda Insight is a two door, 2 passenger family
coupe, it is available in 3 trims as 5-Spd Manual (MT),
5-Spd Manual with AC and CVT Automatic with AC. It is
equipped with a standard 1.0 liter, I3 (3 cylinders), 73
HP engines that achieved 60/66 mpg for the manual
transmission and 57/56 mpg for the automatic. It is one
of the best fuel efficient automobile in America.
The 2006 Honda Insight remains completely unchanged from
the previous model year.
